Yan Ning Chen

International Preteen

I am Yan Ning Chen, your 2026–2027 International United Miss Pre-Teen, a 13-year-old proudly representing Florida.

I am a competitive dancer, former seven-year gymnast, middle school cheerleading captain, and aspiring pole vaulter. I love challenging myself through sports while expressing my creativity through modeling, baking, LEGO building, crafts, needlepoint, and surfing.

I first stepped onto a pageant stage at the age of five. After taking a six-year break, I returned to competition last year and rediscovered my love for pageantry. Through that journey, I learned that confidence isn’t about being perfect, it’s about showing up, embracing your uniqueness, and believing in yourself even when life feels challenging.

My platform, Hair We Go, raises awareness for trichotillomania while supporting those affected by OCD, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Having overcome social anxiety and self-doubt, I am passionate about helping others find confidence, authenticity, and the courage to share their own stories.

I also created Hair We Go Talks, Turn-A-Page Tuesday, and The H.E.R.O.I.C. Diaries, where I encourage kindness, resilience, and confidence through storytelling and community service. This year, I am excited to launch In Our Era, a podcast I co-created with three friends to inspire meaningful conversations and amplify young voices.

A fun fact about me: I was born in the Netherlands to a Chinese family, grew up in the United States, and have traveled to more than 10 countries. I love meeting new people, exploring different cultures, and learning from every experience along the way.

I believe every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and I hope to inspire others to lead with confidence, kindness, and purpose.
